27th

Around of applause! Forever21 M size fit me loosely! But MY tricep is humongous. I find it an eye sore. Saw a pretty lady walking down the street? When she turns around that humongous tricep seem so out of place.

My dinner.

Lunch

2 hard boiled egg for breakfast.

I'm terribly tired! Didn't have enough sleep. Didn't have good sleep. Have classes on sat and sun. It's a terribly warm day. I'm feeling so sleepy. Yawns.

26th

Had 2 sunny for breakfast.
Flax meal sandwich with Chicken breast, cheddar cheese, veggie and some mustard sauce. The bun already tasted nice with the cheese and veggie .

Dinner. Dear with Atkins illegal.

This is 'mine'. I gave all illegals to Darlin. The pork chop was so nice that I decided to visit the restuarant again. BUt this time round, I tried Garlic sauce instead. It turned out way different from the black pepper one.

I had a few sip of coffee without sugar. IT's good!

Baked some coconut muffins on day 24. Ate one. Didn't turn out fantastic.

25th dinner.

Meetup with Ex colleague. Had black pepper pork chop

Inspiration!

From the link in the ext. induction wt loss is not linear. Low Carb in the UK - The 3rd week "stall"
Low Carb in the UKWhy has my weight loss stopped after the 3rd week? Explaining the Weight Loss Pattern on Low CarbWritten by Jan Jackson in May 2001, It just got reposted to the main list. I have been meaning to write something on this for ages.. so, I will just recycle instead! The Atkin's 2 Week induction phase:- heady stuff, weight loss nearly every day, usually enormous and unbelievable amounts! This is very often followed by complaints of "a stall" or only losses of "just 1lb per week". Many people don't know that weight loss is rate limited, in other words the body has factors preventing more than a certain amount to be released from storage and even more factors that prevent these released fatty acids from being used up instead of stored back in the cells. This is called the set point principle. The priority of the human body is survival, anything that threatens that results in a cascade of events to maintain the previous status quo. Water fluctuations are one way the body protects itself.z During induction you may have lost 10lbs during 2 weeks, possibly 7lbs 1st week and 3lbs 2nd, then weeks 3& 4 - no loss! & weeks 5&6 only 1/2lbs each- so what's happening? Initially the body jettisons your carb-burning enzymes whilst building fat-buring ones(around 3lbs), and the water attatched to the glycogen stores that we diligently deplete to get into BDK. This amounts to 3-5 lbs water. In addition muscle stores of glycogen are not being replaced when used, which will account for most of the rest of your losses. All in all maybe 0.5lbs fat metabolised during 1st week & maybe same 2nd, so only 1lb fat lost, but 9lbs water and enzymes. The body senses this diuretic effect, and the sirens go off, 'WARNING! Water loss occuring... New thing! get back to status quo!!" The Brain tells body to produce vasosupression antidiuretic hormone - more water is retained and so, no weight loss is registered on the scale. Fat loss is still occurring however- maybe 2lbs per week- because BDK is firmly established and appetite surpresssion is in effect- but water is hiding that weight loss. The body is preventing dehydration and that is a Good Thing. However, from the perspective of the scale this can be very discouraging, and why we all say "Get the tape measure out!" Which is why the mantra 'Water retention hides weight loss' is helpful!! Water retention will mask ongoing weight loss for as long as the body retains the water. We can combat this by drinking more water but we can't overcome this natural mechanism during the initial water loss phase of Atkins. By week 5&:6 things start to get back into balance and the scale will begin to reflect true weight loss - which is still rate limited. Individuals vary but max weight loss runs to about 2lbs per week- under extreme optimal conditions or 1% of body weight whichever is the lowest number. THE TAKE HOME MESSAGE: EVEN WHEN SCALE IS IN STALL- FAT LOSS CAN BE OCCURING. DONT USE SCALE AS AN EXCUSE TO UNDERMINE YOU PROGRESS!! GET THAT TAPE MEASURE OUT!

Goin nuts

I'm having nuts. I jumped rung. But i started craving for nuts. Oh Dear. Perhaps I shall stop having nuts for the moment?

I'm frustrated! I'm still 66kg. @#%@$%# My next goal is 65kg and it is coming too late in my schedule! Panicked.

ARgh! ARgh! ARgh! I couldn't vent my frustration enough.

Neither do I want to go down my carb counter. I don't want to 'downgrade'. I want that varity. Shall I be more patient and up my exercise more?

ATkiss has decided to challenge herself to stay off scale for a week! I'll do what I feel comfortable. I'll listen to my body.

OhDear. Just realised that TOM is lurking. Might be having some water retention problem.

23

Breakfast. ATtempted to make Alfredo. Proved that I used the wrong Cheddar cheese. It tasted buttered rather than Alfredo. The cheese clumps together.

22

Check this out. Found a quaint tomato at Shop and save today.

Dinner

LUnch. The green thing is spinach cream.

My progression.

22nd!

Lunch. TOo little? Looks hungry. WIll top up my tummy later.

Bun bun. Baked from whisked egg white. It serve well with cream cheese.
Had some butter with it. Tasted a little oily.

THe baking. Awesome isn't it?
I'm goin Gym with darlin later. Shall have some intensive workout now to rev up my metabolism.

21st!

BAcktrack to ydae!

My Breakfast cum lunch. Salsa fillet and salad. Dressing: Cider vinegar and olive oil.

My darlin's counterpart. ATkins very illegal.

Swam 8 laps. Totally tired after swimming. I was so hungry! We stopped by a coffeeshop to takeaway our dinner. I had fried fish, chicken wing (it's coated with flour and it tasted sweet!) and beansprout (I don't wanna know their seasoning). Perhaps I was too strict. My weight didn't go down. But I seem to have lost another inch at my tummy!

I conclude. The reason why my weight hasn't go down recently is due to my lack of exercise. My body might have been conditioned by my Latino aerobics. I need different form of exercise.

Tired

I'm really tired. But I know I hadn't blogged for a day. I don't want to let this habit slip away.

My weight hadn't gone down. 66kg seems like a wall which I had to climb over to the other side.

Confession:

I've not been exercising as hard as previously.
I have not religiously record all net carb.
I've eaten sugar in hidden ingredient. But it's negligible.
I have NOT cheat.

I will:
Increase my exercise.

Day20

My breakfast cum lunch. Spinach omellet and shrimps with cider vinegar.
My darlin's lunch. Atkins illegal food cooked my Atkiss. Haha.
This is basically straits food. Oyster mushroom and spinach in oyster sauce. His takeaway chicken rice. Sambal chilli prawn and curry wings. Added illegal seasoning.
I pinic on Atkins!
Check out my flaxseed sandwich. Held in my hand. My atkins legal wings. Cheese baked prawn and salad in olive oil and cider vinegar. Only had plain water. I made a vanilla ice cream for dessert. But only had a little taste of it. It's really fragrant. I didn't add any artificalc sweetener. So didn't really enjoy it.

Day19

TGIF! This is the first time I'm hanging out the wholeday ever since I started Atkins. So this gonna be a milestone for my progression too. New self control when bombarded with all temptations. I ever have stemboat buffet with my darlin.

Had burger for breakfast and lunch. Had the same thing for both. Breakfast was a miniture. Haha.

This is steamboat buffet from Chong Bang.
Don't be jealous.
Seem like Im eating a lot. That;s really unhealthy. Buffet is something you tend to overeat. Well, since it's only for once in a blue moon, so alright.

Day18

Pretty busy today. Thus I only have time to blog now. I've yet to bath. My little bro is having his cooking test tomorrow. Lolx. He's such a noob in the kitchen. Got to teach him how to cook.

I had cabbage pizza for dinner! CHeddar mixed Morzerella. Tomato, capsicum and onion.

Flexseed bread. Tried out Bowulf recipies. Turns out lovely. It's so soft chewy. It doesn't taste very much like bread. More of English muffin. But it cure ur craving for any bread. Couldn't get flaxmeal from the supermart. Thus, brought a pack of organic flaxseed and ground it myself.

Lunch!

Breakfast: Salmon!
My mum commented I looked slimmer. Especially at my tummy! I can fit into my jeans very comfortably now. It used to be tight..

Thoughts

I've never tried counting calories. Not once in my life. IT's hassle and you really need lots of nutritional information for this. I'm using fitday now as suggested by other Atkineers. I realised that without counting calories, people tend to eat more than required. Calories is something people will tend to under-estimate. For instance, (pls refer to my breakfast), it's already 1000+ calories! Well, perhaps it's due to all the hidden ingredient. This is one huge reason why the population is getting fatter! Especially when you started working and have no time to cook, people eat out! Thus, everybody is getting fatter.

Message of the day.
Don't underestimate the calories.

Day17

Lunch. Salmon and omellet

Dinner. Kimchi inspired chinese cabbage.

Tuesday, September 1, 2009

Day17

Lunch cum breakfast. Frustrated. Not losing weight. But i'm feeling slimmer.
As recommended by other Atkineers, use measurement as a guadge not scale. Scale lies. Well, but haha. Alright, I'll be good.

Day16!

Time flies!

Had omellet for breakfast again.

Lunch.
Some butterhead cabbage, a quater of chicken and mashed potatoes replica!

Haha. the mashed potatoes replica is fantastic! Everybody should try to make some

Ingredient:
2 cup of cauliflower boiled and mashed in a food processor
2 tsp of sourcream
1 ounce of cheddar cheese
half ounce of cream cheese
leftover chicken stock from my grilled chicken!

No salt no suger no msg!

Dinner.
Chinese cabbage and curry chicken wings.
I've heard some Atkineers having stall aftere having outside Chinese food. A typical chinese food, soya sauce and starch is essential. All these contain carb. But mine is Atkins version. Of coz it isn't as delicious as outside. But I'm dieting!
